Outside Director, LIXIL Group Corporation
Kurt M. Campbell was appointed Outside Director of LIXIL Group Corporation in June 2019. He is the Founding Partner, Chairman and CEO of The Asia Group LLC, a strategic advisory and capital management group. He previously served on the Board of Directors for Standard Chartered Plc. and MetLife Inc.
Campbell has deep expertise in the business, politics, and national security of the Asia Pacific region. From 2009 to 2013, he served as the US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs. He was formerly the CEO and Co-Founder of the Center for a New American Security, and prior to that, was the founder and Chairman of StratAsia. Before launching StratAsia, he served as the Senior Vice President and director of the International Security Program and the Henry A. Kissinger Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. From 1992 to 2000, Campbell served in various US government and military services, including, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asia and the Pacific at the US Department of Defense, Staff Director of the National Security Council, Deputy Special Counselor to the President for the North American Free Trade Agreement in the White House, and White House fellow at the US Department of the Treasury. Previously, Campbell was a Professor at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
