LIXIL Museum

LIXIL Museum, adjacent to our office in Ojima, Tokyo, takes you through the evolution of lifestyles and living spaces over generations in Japan and how LIXIL's founding companies prior to the formation of LIXIL contributed to the modernization of Japan through its products and technological innovations.

In the main hall, we display the history of product innovations of window sashes, doors, interior and exterior building materials, as well as kitchens, bathrooms and toilets, together with explanations of the societal background at the time of the innovation and how the products impacted society. We also exhibit the corporate histories and philosophies of the founding companies and Kawashima Selkon Textiles prior to the merger to become LIXIL. In the library corner, we have a collection of books published by LIXIL as well as other books in the related fields of our expertise for the perusal of visitors to peruse in a beautiful and comfortable reading space filled with natural light.

Safe Lifestyle Gallery

We have dedicated a corner of the LIXIL Museum to display real cases of product failures. Products have finite life and the misuse of products could result in product failures and accidents. It is our hope that visually experiencing these cases will allow our customers to have a better understanding of how to handle such products, which would lead to increasing and ensuring safety in households.
